Mr. Srinivas Naidu has a comprehensive knowledge of basic principles of preclinical drug development, derived from extensive graduate training in Pharmacology. He has conducted multi-year research focused on pain and inflammatory disorders and was engaged in the development of endocannabinoid based medications for the treatment of acute, chronic pain and Neuropathic Pain, inflammatory disorders including Rheumatoid Arthritis. He authored research papers that provided pivotal information in understanding the endocannabinoid system in chronic inflammatory conditions and development of CB2 cannabinoid receptor agonists and fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) inhibitors as potential drug candidates for the treatment of chronic inflammatory disorders like Rheumatoid arthritis. He has extensively explored the role of oxidative stress and Excitatory mechanism in the pathophysiology of drug-induced neurodegenerative movement disorders and guided the development of antioxidants as a potential therapeutics for the management of drug-induced neurodegenerative movement disorders. His key research expertise areas include Animal models development and validation, Pain and inflammatory disorders, affective disorders (anxiety and depression) and Neurodegenerative Disorders. He has published more than 70 papers, including research articles, reviews and book chapters in high impact specialty journals.
