Subhabrata Sen Ph.D.
Subhabrata Sen was born in 1972 in Kolkata, India. He studied chemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia and received his Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Shon R. Pulley in 2001. After postdoctoral studies at Colorado State Fort Collins with Professor A. I. Meyers, he moved to Chemocentryx Inc. a biotech company in Palo Alto California in 2002. In 2004 he returned to India to work for Syngene International Private Limited, Bangalore, India. After working in the industry for nearly eleven years in companies like BASF-India, Pfizer-VMPS, GVKBioscience, he joined Shiv Nadar University, India at the beginning of 2013 as an associate professor and was the Head of the Department until June 2018.
He is presently a professor in the Department of Chemistry, in SRM University-AP, Amaravati, AP, India. His current research interests are:
- Asymmetric synthesis,
- Diversity-oriented synthetic strategies,
- Target based discovery of bioactive molecules
- Organic Synthetic Methodologies-C-H activation
